Hunger, insecurity: Zamfara youths protest in Gusau, demand Tinubu’s resignation [VIDEO]
Tension reportedly gripped parts of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, on Monday as youths took to the streets to protest against the administration of President Bola Tinubu over worsening economic hardship and insecurity.
The protesters, who blocked a major road in the city, chanted “Tinubu Must Go” and demanded urgent action to address hunger, rising living costs and persistent killings across the country.
A video circulating on social media on Monday showed large numbers of youths carrying placards and leaves while chanting slogans against the Federal Government.
Some of the demonstrators accused the government of failing to address the economic difficulties facing Nigerians and the security challenges affecting communities, particularly in the North-West.

“We are tired of hunger, we are tired of killings. Tinubu must go. We need a better Nigeria,” one of the protesters said in the video.
The demonstration, which reportedly began in the early hours of Monday, disrupted movement along the affected road, leaving motorists stranded in traffic for hours.
Security operatives were later seen at the scene attempting to disperse the crowd and prevent the protest from escalating into violence.
The protest comes amid persistent concerns over insecurity and economic hardship in parts of the country, with Zamfara among the states affected by recurring attacks, abductions and killings by armed groups.
However, details surrounding the organisers of Monday’s demonstration, the exact number of participants and whether any arrests or injuries were recorded had not been independently established at the time of filing this report.
Neither the Zamfara State Government nor the state police command had issued an official statement on the protest as of press time.
