The leadership and members of Justice Forum in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have dissociated themselves from a media report claiming that the group is working against the fourth-term aspiration of Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, describing the allegation as inaccurate and not reflective of their position.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Olakulehin Samson (popularly known as De Way), the group described the publication — reportedly carried by Punch Newspaper — as misleading and a misrepresentation of its position.

The forum stated categorically that at no time did any directive emanate from its revered leader, Olorunfunmi Basorun, instructing members to work against the federal lawmaker.

“We state unequivocally that no such instruction was given, and any claim suggesting that the Justice Forum is mobilising against Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson is false and does not reflect the position of our group,” the statement read.

Justice Forum commended Benson’s performance as representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, noting that his stewardship has been marked by visible developmental strides.

The group highlighted achievements in road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, youth and women empowerment programmes, educational support initiatives and efforts to strengthen unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the forum, the lawmaker’s contributions are “widely acknowledged and evident even to the most critical observers within the constituency.”

The statement also addressed claims involving Mrs. Sanni Yemi, whose name was mentioned in the publication. The forum clarified that she has never acted against Benson and does not represent any anti-JB position within the Justice Forum.

“The attribution is entirely incorrect,” the group stated, adding that attempts to link its members to any campaign against the lawmaker are unfounded.

Justice Forum urged party members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard the publication in its entirety, describing it as a deliberate attempt to create unnecessary tension within the political structure of the constituency.

Reaffirming its commitment to unity and discipline, the group emphasized that it remains aligned with the progressive ideals of the APC and will continue to support initiatives that promote cohesion and development in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The statement concluded with a call for responsible reporting and constructive engagement among political stakeholders ahead of future electoral activities.
