Nwoko challenges Delta North APC primary outcome, vows to submit Ward-by-Ward video evidence
Senator Ned Nwoko has insisted that he won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Delta North, declaring that he possesses extensive video evidence from all 98 wards in the district to substantiate his claim.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, the lawmaker maintained that the primaries were properly conducted at the ward level and that recordings from each ward clearly show he emerged victorious.
According to him, the evidence will be formally submitted to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for verification and appropriate action.
“The APC primaries for Delta North took place across 98 wards. I have ward-by-ward video evidence showing that I won the election, and I will submit it to the party,” Nwoko stated.
The senator alleged that midway into the collation process, his team was informed that results would no longer be announced at the ward level as initially expected.
He explained that party officials later communicated that final results would instead be declared at the national level — a development his camp accepted on the understanding that the process would remain transparent.
“Halfway through the process, we received information that no results would be announced at the ward level. We were told the results would be announced at the national level,” he said.

However, Nwoko expressed concern over what he described as the sudden emergence of a result from only one ward, which he claimed was closely linked to political interests loyal to former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
“Instead, we were suddenly presented with a result from a single ward closely connected to the former governor, and that result was used as the basis for declaring the outcome of the entire primaries,” he alleged.
Nwoko maintained that results from the majority of the 98 wards clearly indicated that he was the rightful winner of the Delta North APC senatorial primaries and urged the party leadership to conduct a thorough review of the exercise.
The APC National Assembly primaries, held on May 18, 2026, have reportedly been marred by allegations of irregularities and manipulation in several states.
In response to the concerns, the party’s national leadership has pledged to ensure fairness and due process in reviewing the conduct of the primaries. The APC also stated that final results would be officially announced by its National Working Committee (NWC) after a comprehensive assessment of the process.
Political observers say the dispute in Delta North reflects broader tensions within the party as it prepares for the 2027 general elections, with aspirants increasingly turning to internal review mechanisms to challenge contested outcomes.
