X3M Ideas donates 50 Walkie-Talkies to strengthen security operations in Onigbongbo
Advertising agency X3M Ideas has donated 50 Motorola walkie-talkies to the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State to enhance communication and improve the operational efficiency of the council’s Security Marshals.
The communication equipment was formally presented to the LCDA Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, by the management of X3M Ideas at the council secretariat on Monday, August 31, 2026.
According to the agency, the donation is designed to provide security personnel with reliable communication tools to facilitate faster coordination, improve information sharing and enable more effective responses to security incidents within the community.
The initiative is part of X3M Ideas’ 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and continues the agency’s 14-year tradition of supporting communities where it operates.
Over the years, the company has implemented several community-focused interventions, particularly in education and youth development across Lagos State.
Among its previous projects is the construction and stocking of a library at Ikeja Senior High School, GRA, as well as the construction of classroom blocks, renovation of school facilities and provision of computers to educational institutions.
The agency has also implemented its X3M Tech Training Programme, through which pupils of Muritala Ajadi Community Grammar School received training in website development, product design and writing.
Outstanding participants in the programme were subsequently supported with laptops and internet access to enable them further develop their skills.
Speaking during the presentation, Group Chief Executive Officer of X3M Ideas, Steve Babaeko, said the company considers corporate social responsibility a responsibility to society rather than a publicity opportunity.
“Nobody can force a company to be responsible. You choose it,” Babaeko said.

He explained that businesses have a role to play in complementing government efforts, particularly in addressing challenges that directly affect communities.
“We are corporate citizens, and no government anywhere fixes everything by itself. So, every year we ask one question. Where can we step in and make things a little better? This year the answer was security,” he said.
Babaeko added that equipping security marshals with effective communication devices would improve their ability to coordinate activities and ultimately contribute to the safety of residents.
“Give the marshals the tools to talk to one another, and you make life safer for everybody in Onigbongbo. That is worth doing,” he said.
He noted that X3M Ideas’ commitment to community development began from its early years, stressing that the company embarked on its CSR initiatives even before it became significantly profitable.
“We started in our very first year, before there was any real profit to speak of, because this is just who we are. Fourteen years on, that has not changed,” Babaeko said.
Receiving the equipment, Adebanjo commended X3M Ideas for supporting the council’s security efforts and described the donation as timely.
“These radios came at the right time, and we are grateful,” the chairman said.
He stressed that effective communication was critical to the performance of the Security Marshals, noting that the 50 handsets would improve coordination across their various teams.
“Our marshals are only as effective as their ability to communicate and respond, and fifty reliable handsets across our teams is exactly what they needed,” Adebanjo said.
He added that corporate investments in community safety ultimately benefit both residents and businesses operating within the area.
X3M Ideas said it would sustain its CSR interventions in the coming years, with emphasis on initiatives capable of delivering practical and measurable benefits to communities.
