Okanlawon builds Kosofe youngster’s ICT capacity at OKLA Computer Academy 3.0
Beneficiaries at the third edition of OKLA Computer Academy have describe Hon. Sanni Okanlawon the Kosofe constituency 1 member at the Lagos State House Assembly as a selfless enabler of budding future leaders.
The beneficiaries who got skilfully empowered through the Free ICT/Computer Training Programme facilitated by the lawmaker, said with the acquired level of competence availed them through the training, they can conveniently compete with their contemparies beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Hon. Okanlawon in a chat with newsmen after the human capital empowerment programme, hinted that his target through the concept is to churn out digitally savvy youngsters, whose future will be better aided by the required ICT skills dished out at the trainings by the academy.
“We are trying to key them into the requirements that the 21st century economy dictates. All of them must be digitally savvy, that is why I made this enabling environment possible.
“The programme was established with a clear vision: to provide young people with access to practical digital skills and equip them for the opportunities of an increasingly technology-driven world.
“Through this edition, our students have gained valuable knowledge in areas including Microsoft Office, Data Analytics, Graphic Design, Web Development, Database Management, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
“ We are just doing our thing, it is a social contract with the people. We also rewarded the outstanding students, they got laptops, certificates and cash gifts.
“Their achievements reaffirm our belief that when young people are given the right opportunities, guidance and support, they can excel and make meaningful contributions to society.”
A stakeholder in the community Musiliu Aigoro was elated by the continous impactful initiatives of the lawmaker for all the young constituents of Kosofe constituency 1.
He noted that given the cost implication of such a vital training evidently apt for the world economy at this time, indigent ones can also benefit owing to the laudable move of OKLA Computer Academy.
A beneficiary in website design, AI and robotics Miss Ajilore Oluwakemi Toyin said that the training has been an engaging one, which has exposed her and other colleagues to greater level of computer literacy.
According to her going forward she can comfortably assert her competence to impact her environment positively, courtesy the large heartedness of the lawmaker who made the opportunity free for all the beneficiaries.
