Seyi Tinubu has extended words of encouragement to celebrity businessman Pascal Okechukwu following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

The nightlife promoter, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, contested the party ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections but lost to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, after polling 14 votes in the primary.

In a show of support, Seyi Tinubu reportedly reached out to him shortly after the results were announced, offering encouragement and urging him to remain focused and resilient in the face of political disappointment.

According to sources familiar with the interaction, Seyi Tinubu emphasized that electoral defeat is a common feature of politics and should not be viewed as the end of a political journey, especially for newcomers still building structures and influence within party systems.

His message of support was later reshared by Cubana Chief Priest, drawing further attention across social media platforms.

In a video circulating online, Cubana Chief Priest confirmed he had no regrets about participating in the race, insisting that his decision to contest was driven by conviction and ambition.

However, he expressed disappointment over the low number of votes he received, while also questioning the role of party stakeholders and internal dynamics that shaped the outcome of the primary election.

The APC primary result has continued to generate mixed reactions online, with supporters praising his courage to contest while critics questioned his political experience and preparedness for legislative office.

The development adds to ongoing conversations about celebrity participation in Nigerian politics, especially within party primaries where established politicians often maintain strong delegate structures.
