Toyota Motor show ignites youth passion for innovation through debate, quiz competitions
Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) placed young Nigerians at the centre of attention on the second day of its ongoing Toyota Motor Show in Lagos, hosting an engaging debate and quiz competition aimed at promoting automotive innovation and encouraging greater interest in technology-driven mobility solutions.
The youth-focused programme, held on Wednesday at The Podium in Lekki, attracted students and young professionals from different backgrounds who demonstrated remarkable intelligence, creativity and analytical thinking in a series of contests that captivated participants and spectators alike.
One of the major highlights of the event was a highly competitive debate contest that featured two teams of young contestants.
The participants impressed both judges and the audience with their eloquence, confidence and ability to present well-structured arguments on issues related to innovation and mobility.
Following a closely contested session, Team A, consisting of Robinson Goodness, Esabu Blessing and Igbayisemore Tony, emerged winners after edging out Team B, made up of Akinware Breakthrough, Yusuf Rahimat and Dawn Ijaware.

The excitement continued with a quiz competition that tested participants’ knowledge of automobiles, technology and Toyota products.
Six contestants initially entered the contest, but the field was gradually narrowed as three participants were eliminated in the early rounds.
The competition reached a thrilling climax in the final stage, where contestants faced a series of challenging questions focused largely on Toyota vehicle models and automotive-related topics.
Audience members watched with keen interest as the finalists displayed exceptional speed, accuracy and composure while competing for the top prize.
At the end of the contest, Feyisetan Tolase Emmanuel emerged as the overall winner and received N250,000, while Ayorinde Bolarinwa secured second place and went home with N150,000.
Award-winning actress and social advocate, Kate Henshaw, who chaired the panel of judges, commended the contestants for their outstanding performances and commitment to learning.
She expressed satisfaction with the confidence, intelligence and creativity displayed by the young participants, noting that the future remains promising when innovation and knowledge acquisition are encouraged among the younger generation.
Also serving on the judging panel was Henry Ojuoko, Head of Dealer Development and Special Duties at Toyota Nigeria Limited.
He said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to nurturing future innovators and creating opportunities for young people to engage with emerging technologies.
