At least two people have been killed and three others injured after suspected militants attacked a civilian guard post in Mangor, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attack reportedly occurred at about 10pm in Angwan Tsarki, a residential area within a farming community where local volunteers were carrying out night-watch duties.

Conflict reporter Masara Kim reported the incident on X, sharing videos purportedly showing some of the injured victims receiving treatment at a local hospital.

According to Kim, one of the survivors said the attackers invaded the community during the night and that he was among those wounded in the assault.

Mangor, located in western Bokkos, has reportedly experienced repeated attacks and killings over the years.

Kim linked the latest incident to previous violence in the area, including a 2013 attack in which more than 27 people were reportedly killed.

The latest attack also reportedly occurred against the backdrop of recent shootings in South Jos and Dorowa Babuje.

Kim further reported that a pastor was killed while travelling to church in the area on September 20, 2026.

The renewed violence has heightened concerns over the safety of communities in Bokkos and other parts of Plateau State, where attacks on farming settlements have periodically resulted in deaths, injuries and displacement.

As of the time of filing this report, Alfred Alabo, spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, had not responded to calls or a message seeking confirmation of the latest attack.

The identities of the victims and the circumstances surrounding the attack could not immediately be independently verified.
