2027 Elections: Alimosho Federal Constituency stakeholders backs Ayuba, tasks Yilwatda, Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu
Stakeholders of Alimosho Federal Constituency have declared that the alleged plan to forcefully impose another candidate aside the winner of their House of Representatives primaries Hon Abdul-Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, will be counter productive for All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders made the assertion at a press conference held in the heart of Alimosho on Thursday, in an address by Comrade Okedara Kolawole of the Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement CAGRAM, the leaders urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to swiftly address the attendant undemocratic development that followed the recent primaries.
“We state categorically and without ambiguity that the overwhelming majority of party members across Alimosho Federal Constituency strongly reject any attempt by Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and his collaborators outside Alimosho Federal Constituency to impose an aspirant who lacks electoral value, grassroots acceptance, political relevant and the confidence of the organic membership of the party.
The group hinted that prior to the primaries a constituency meeting was put together by stakeholders and led by Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and Hon. Abdul Rahman Adebisi Yusuf where Hon. Ayuba was adopted as their House of Representatives consensus candidate, and consequently led to an overwhelming victory at the primaries where he polled 37,021 votes to defeat the other aspirant who polled 2,793 votes.
According to the stakeholders given the fact that the massive gamut of the APC in Alimosho federal constituency are solidly behind the call for Ayuba’s return for a second term at the House of Representatives as evidently portrayed at the primaries, “Madam Adebisi Adebajo (Abisco) whom Pastor Ojelabi and his collaborators are trying to force on APC Alimosho Federal Constituency members is a First Class Electoral Liability with records to show.
“APC under the watch of Hon. Adebajo Abisco (Serving Executive Council Chairman then) lost almost if not all elections in her polling unit.
“A halt must be put to this attempt to this externally motivated attempt to disrespect the decision of Alimosho stakeholders and overwhelming majority of its members by Pastor Ojelabi and his collaborators.”
The group alleged that Abisco did not participate in the state Assembly and presidential primaries citing her transactional membership status.
In his goodwill message at the forum, the Ikotun monarch (Onikotun) Oba Azeez Gbadabiu sounded a note of warning to a particular political group whom he alleged was behind the imposition, stating that they should not destroy APC in Alimosho and that their moves are at variance with the will of the party members therein.
“G-18 don’t destroy the party in Alimosho because we can sense your disruptive moves thus far in our midst, we don’t want any disruption when the election time comes because it will bring us set backs.
“President Bola Tinubu did not send you on that destructive errand, it is borne out of your greedy desires, none of you can approach him all you do is to lie against him that he instructed you to take certain actions, don’t forget that some people know all your antics.
“Ayuba just served three years out of his first term in office which spans four years, the person you brought forward we don’t know her in Alimosho none of our kings can say they know her and now you are trying to force an unknown person on us? “Many who have been representing us at the House of Representatives have not been delivering dividend of democracy to us in Alimosho, why can’t Ayuba do two terms?
“Tell us what sins he has committed. Those who represented us in time past were not Awori descendants and you allowed them served twice so what is wrong with having Ayuba serve two terms or more?
“If you don’t want to destroy Alimosho leave Ayuba alone to serve one more term. But if you insist you will understand better on the election day.
“I want to send a note of warning to our party Chairman Ojelabi to be serious and not to betray our party in Alimosho, G-18 please take caution”.
In his short take Hon. Ayuba appealed to all his constituents to maintain calm and remain loyal to the party.
“I just want to appeal to everybody in Alimosho to remain calm, faithful to this party APC and to government of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the one that is struggling every night to ensure that Lagos State, Alimosho Federal Constituency and Nigeria as a whole is better for it.
“So, he is trying his best in all ramification to make sure Nigeria moves forward and everybody knows that and by the grace of almighty Allah, he will take us to the promise land.
“It is not my personal mandate but that of the entire Alimosho federal constituency and the people have spoken and I don’t want to say anything again.
“I am only invited here as a participant, I am not the one who organized the programme. APC owns Nigeria and I believe everything will go as we want it, we shall vote and win, there will be no rancour thereafter.”
Other stakeholders like the CDC chairman, the Iyaloja of Obadore Mrs Shade Balogun and a political gladiator Mr. Osifade all affirmed that Ayuba still remain their choice candidate at the 2027 general polls.
