Hamzat visits Christ Embassy, hails Church’s community impact

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat on Sunday met with the leadership of Christ Embassy, led by its President and Founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, as part of ongoing consultations with key religious and community leaders across the state.

The engagement focused on the contributions of faith-based organisations to family welfare, youth development and community building, with Hamzat stressing the importance of collaboration between government and religious institutions in advancing the well-being of Lagos residents.

Hamzat, who disclosed the visit through his official communication channels, described the impact of faith-based organisations on society as significant, particularly in supporting families, empowering young people and strengthening communities.

“The impact faith-based organisations make in lifting families, supporting youth, and building our communities is invaluable,” the deputy governor said.

He noted that sustainable development could only be achieved through collective efforts and partnerships among stakeholders, regardless of their sectors or institutional affiliations.

“Real progress happens when we all build together,” Hamzat added.

The deputy governor also expressed optimism about the future of Lagos, reaffirming his commitment to supporting initiatives capable of improving the quality of life of residents and driving further development across the state.

“The journey ahead is bright and we will keep pushing Lagos forward,” he said.

The high-profile engagement was attended by Hamzat’s running mate, Princess Damilola Sonayan James; Director-General of the Campaign Organisation, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; and other key stakeholders.

The courtesy visit forms part of a broader series of consultative engagements by Hamzat with prominent religious, traditional and community leaders across Lagos State.

The engagements are aimed at strengthening relationships with critical stakeholders and fostering broader collaboration on issues affecting residents and communities.
