Jordan Pickford set for court over alleged 50mph police chase
By Ihuoma Inyama
Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is set to appear in court after being charged with careless driving following an alleged police chase in Cheshire.
The incident happened on April 14 in Knutsford, when Pickford was reportedly driving his £165,000 Lamborghini Urus.
According to a police witness statement reported by The Sun, Pickford allegedly ignored give-way markings at a junction on Toft Road, forcing two vehicles to brake suddenly to avoid a collision.
Police Constable Cecil Ricardo said he activated his lights and sirens after the Lamborghini accelerated away from the junction.
The officer said his police vehicle reached 50mph in a 30mph zone while pursuing Pickford, but the Lamborghini was still pulling away before eventually stopping.

Pickford was identified as the driver and was issued with a traffic offence report for allegedly driving without due care and attention.
Cheshire Police charged the 91-cap England international on September 23.
Pickford later entered an online guilty plea but requested to attend court in person to present his mitigation.
“I would like to attend court to put forward my mitigation,” he wrote in his submission.
The goalkeeper is due to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on December 7.
If convicted of careless driving, Pickford could receive between three and nine penalty points or face a driving ban, depending on the court’s decision
