Faye Nguyen on How to Integrate Your Professional Skill Set With Your Personal Interests

There are many challenges on the path to success. One of the biggest is figuring out how to integrate professional skills with personal interests.

Combining the two will keep you motivated on your career path and should improve your results. Faye Nguyen discovered how to combine the two in her life and shares her tips for success.

For Faye, having the right mindset regarding your skills and life, in general, is essential. She says, “One should not be limited to just one job, one career, one life path.

We are multi-dimensional creatures, and we have various interests and talents.” She also tells others, “Don’t ever box yourself in.”

Faye Nguyen’s interests and talents included speech-language pathology, fashion, modeling, and content creation. The issue for many people is figuring out how to combine their various passions together.

Faye explains, “Being a professional in the health care field does not limit me from pursuing my personal interest in modeling and content creation. For years, I did not know how to combine my two lives together and preferred to keep them separately.”

As such, she started her Instagram page in 2016. She grew a following almost right away but did not start sharing videos on YouTube until 2019.

It’s not always clear how to connect personal interests and professional skills. Faye started by creating speech pathology videos alongside her modeling, beauty, and other videos. But she was still not satisfied until she came up with her latest project.

Faye explains, “The Autism United Action non-profit organization is finally the answer to my quest to integrate my professional knowledge/skill set with my personal interests as well as the social platforms/followings I’ve gained over the past five years.”

Faye also offers advice on how your plans to combine your professional skills and personal interests will change. She advises, “Don’t wait until you have perfected the craft to start. Take the first step.

You will make mistakes no matter what, but you will learn during the process. Understand yourself, use your own resources, and learn from your own environment and choose the path of least resistance for the highest probability of success.”

Faye Nguyen earned her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology in 2014. She treated adults at the Swedish Medical Center in Washington.

She moved to California in 2015, where she started working with pediatric patients in an outpatient center. Starting in 2016, she supplemented this with modeling and building an Instagram following.

Faye Nguyen’s YouTube channel combines fashion, modeling, and speech pathology.

She found the perfect way to integrate her professional skills and her personal interests. The Autism United Action non-profit organization is her latest project to combine the two.
