Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has called for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to revoke its approval of COVID-19 vaccines and remove them from the childhood immunization schedule, citing concerns about “permanent harm and deaths.”

“FDA approval for COVID-19 vaccines needs to be pulled and they need taken off the childhood vaccine schedule ASAP.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Greene asserted that the vaccines should never have been approved and claimed that the FDA has been aware of severe side effects and deaths caused by them.

Greene also referenced her past social media activity regarding the vaccines, stating that her account was previously banned for her views.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends COVID-19 vaccination for individuals aged 6 months and older.

Greene’s call contradicts this recommendation.

The CDC does acknowledge rare cases of myocarditis and pericarditis following COVID-19 vaccination, particularly in adolescent and young adult males after the second dose of mRNA vaccines (Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech).

However, they maintain that COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for most individuals.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has also publicly stated that the FDA should revoke its approval of the COVID-19 vaccines.
