You are rewriting history without evidence – Presidency tells El-Rufai
Daniel Bwala, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, dismissed El-Rufai’s claims as an attempt to “rewrite history without proof” and labeled the former governor’s new “coalition” as an “association of internally displaced politicians” that is “dead on arrival.”
The Presidency has swiftly reacted to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s latest interview, in which he launched criticisms against President Bola Tinubu and his administration.
Daniel Bwala, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, stated that El-Rufai attempted to rewrite history without providing any verifiable proof to support his assertions.
Bwala took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his views, stating that the “coalition” of opposition lawmakers championed by El-Rufai was merely an “association of internally displaced politicians” and declared it “dead on arrival.”
In his interview with Arise Television, the former governor, known for his outspoken views, claimed that President Tinubu cannot run for president again.
He cited what he alleged was a 91 percent unfavorable rating for Tinubu in the North and Southeast regions of the country.
Among other things, El-Rufai also criticized the quality of Tinubu’s cabinet, emphatically stating that it was “a joke.”
The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory further clarified that his new coalition, which he has been rallying, has not yet adopted any specific political party.
However, Bwala swiftly countered El-Rufai’s remarks, writing on X: “I listened to the interview of my elder brother @elrufai Nasir El-Rufai, on Prime Time Arise TV tonight. He didn’t say anything new or outside the realm of what anyone in the opposition or coalition would say.”

Bwala continued, “What is however strange is how he tried to re-write history, and his facts were not supported by any shred of evidence.” He concluded his critique with a strong dismissal of El-Rufai’s political maneuvering: “Their coalition is still an association of internally displaced politicians formed for a wild goose chase. Dead on arrival.”
This exchange highlights growing political tensions and a potential realignment of forces ahead of future elections, as key political figures vocalize their positions on the current administration’s performance and future prospects.
