Some people frequently take drugs to cure certain health conditions or symptoms of deficiencies. According to Healthline, certain foods contain nutrients that can replace some of the drugs we take.
Supplementary drugs are quite expensive. We can’t continue to depend on them and abandon healthy diets. If your health condition permits, it’s always better to get your nutrients from food than swallowing pills.
The following are drugs you should stop taking and foods to eat instead:
1. You should stop taking vitamin B drugs. Our bodies need vitamin B every day for body growth, such as cell production, healthy hair, and skin. When you are vitamin B deficient, your nails, skin, and hair can be affected.
However, you can get vitamin B by eating edible nuts, eggs, leafy green vegetables, cow’s liver, seeds, and yogurt.
When you eat enough of any of these foods, you will supply your body with the vitamin B it needs for proper growth. This won’t make you dependent on vitamin B drugs before you can get good hair or healthy skin.
2. It’s usually recommended that we sleep uninterruptedly for at least seven hours every night. Some people find it difficult to even sleep for five hours, and they take pills almost every night before they can have quality sleep.
You might sleep very well but feel groggy the next day. The sleeping pill might do more harm than good. You can eat enough kiwifruit, fatty fish, walnuts, and almond nuts to help you sleep well at night.
Almond nuts will provide the phosphorus, riboflavin, and manganese that your body needs. They will act as antioxidants to improve the quality of your sleep.
3. Cod liver oil capsules can be avoided by improving your diet and eating oily fish such as mackerel, salmon, and sardines. You can also eat edible nuts such as walnuts.
Soybeans are also high in oil that will furnish your body. Some of the cod liver capsules we have easily decompose and may not be as effective as they’re advertised by manufacturers.
