The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total sum of N2.001 trillion among the three tiers of government—federal, state, and local councils—for July 2025 revenue.
The allocation was confirmed at the FAAC meeting held in Abuja on Thursday and announced in a communiqué issued Friday by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).
According to the breakdown, the distributable revenue comprised: Statutory revenue: N1.282 trillion; Value Added Tax (VAT): N640.610 billion; Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL): N37.601 billion; Exchange difference: N39.745 billion.
The communiqué revealed that gross statutory revenue for July stood at N3.070 trillion, representing a decline of N415.108 billion compared to the N3.485 trillion recorded in June 2025.
However, VAT collection for July rose to N687.940 billion, which was N9.775 billion higher than the N678.165 billion generated in June.

The report also noted that Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), oil and gas royalties, EMTL, and excise duty recorded significant increases during the month. VAT and import duty rose marginally, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Common External Tariff (CET) levies declined.
From the N2.001 trillion distributable pool, the allocations were as follows: Federal Government: N735.081 billion; State Governments: N660.349 billion; Local Government Councils: N485.039 billion; Derivation revenue (13% of mineral revenue): N120.359 billion to oil-producing states
Further details showed that from the N1.282 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N613.805 billion, states received N311.330 billion, and local councils got N240.023 billion. Oil-producing states shared N117.714 billion as derivation.
For the N640.610 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government collected N96.092 billion, states received N320.305 billion, and local governments got N224.214 billion.
From the N37.601 billion EMTL, the Federal Government received N5.640 billion, states got N18.801 billion, and local councils received N13.160 billion.
Finally, the N39.745 billion exchange difference was distributed with the Federal Government receiving N19.544 billion, states taking N9.913 billion, and local governments collecting N7.643 billion, while oil-producing states shared N2.643 billion as derivation.
