Akpororo fires back at Doris Ogala, dismisses claims as online feud deepens
Spread The News

Nigerian comedian Jephthah Bowoto, popularly known as Akpororo, has strongly rejected allegations made against him by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, further escalating a public dispute that has played out across social media platforms and attracted widespread attention.

Ogala had accused the comedian of sleeping with women and refusing to pay them, claiming she was in possession of a video allegedly showing Akpororo fleeing in his underwear after failing to settle two women.

Her claims emerged amid her ongoing and highly publicised feud with Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor, a dispute in which Akpororo had previously offered commentary.

In response, Akpororo released a video on his Instagram page on Wednesday, dismissing the allegations as false and mocking the actress.

The comedian described Ogala as unserious, questioned her credibility, and laughed off the claims, suggesting that her frequent and emotionally charged online appearances undermined the accusations she was making.

Akpororo went further to challenge Ogala to substantiate some of her own past assertions.

He dared the actress to release photographs or videos to back up her earlier claims of having had a long-term relationship with Pastor Chris Okafor, arguing that tangible evidence would be necessary for the public to take her allegations—against him and others—seriously.

In a follow-up video, the comedian said he had begun compiling evidence of his own after facing online backlash for intervening in Ogala’s dispute with the cleric. He indicated that he was prepared to defend himself should the accusations persist or escalate.

The exchange has sparked intense debate on social media, with many users expressing support for Akpororo and criticising Ogala over what they described as unproven and inflammatory claims.

Others, however, cautioned that the public back-and-forth risks trivialising serious allegations that should be addressed through proper investigation rather than social media confrontations.

In recent weeks, Ogala has made multiple allegations against Pastor Chris Okafor and another cleric, Pastor Psalm Okpe.

In one video, which was later deleted, she alleged abuse and claimed her life had been severely affected by the pastors. She also made emotionally charged remarks suggesting she was unafraid of death and that her time might be short.

As of now, no official findings, arrests or court rulings have been announced in relation to Ogala’s claims against the clerics or the allegations exchanged between her and Akpororo.
