Nicki Minaj says criticism of Trump deepened her support for US President

Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has publicly explained why she considers herself a strong supporter of United States President Donald Trump, saying persistent criticism and hostility toward him have only reinforced her loyalty.

Minaj made the remarks on Wednesday while declaring herself the president’s “number one fan,” during an appearance in which she voiced support for what she described as “Trump Accounts,” a programme she said is designed to provide trust funds for children.

According to Minaj, President Trump invited her onto the stage after she announced her backing for the initiative, a moment that further amplified her public endorsement of his leadership.

“I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” the Trinidadian-born artiste said. “And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”

The 43-year-old rapper also criticised what she described as persistent attacks on the US president, saying she would not support efforts to “bully” him politically or personally.

“He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him. Amen,” Minaj added.
