The Nigerian Army has dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram’s supply lines with the arrest of key logistics suppliers and drone operators in separate operations across Adamawa State.

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, working with local vigilantes and hunters, neutralized a top Boko Haram commander and arrested a suspected drone and logistics supplier in Madagali Local Government Area.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters at an ambush along the Visik River line, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist identified as Abdullahi Mafa, a former hybrid commander in Madagali.

In a subsequent raid at Madagali Motor Park around 6:30 p.m., the troops arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, a suspected Boko Haram collaborator and drone supplier. Items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks.

In a separate operation in Hong Local Government Area, troops from the 28 Task Force Brigade arrested 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, a suspected Boko Haram logistics supplier, in the Visik General area.

Items recovered from Muhammed included an AK-47 magazine, one round of 7.62mm special ammunition, a jungle hat, 10 bags of salt, two cartons of spaghetti, two sachets of seasoning cubes, a sachet of tom-tom, and bitter kola and everyday goods believed to be intended for sustaining terrorist fighters in remote hideouts.

Both suspects are currently in military custody undergoing investigation as security forces work to dismantle Boko Haram’s broader logistics and support networks.

Additionally, troops in Yobe intercepted five suspected arms smugglers and abductors at a checkpoint along the Gombe–Potiskum road at about 4:30 a.m. on February 18. The arrested suspects included Baba Abare, 41, found in possession of an AK-47 rifle, along with Idris Zakari, 33, Nasiru Aliyu, 25, Abdullahi Sulaiman, 35, and Mohammed Idris, 34.

The discovery of drones in the possession of Boko Haram suppliers marks a concerning development in the insurgents’ tactical capabilities, as the terror group continues to adapt its methods despite sustained military pressure.

Military authorities have emphasized that these arrests represent critical successes in disrupting the supply chains that enable Boko Haram operations, as troops continue to intensify efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring security across the Northeast.
