The Dr Osahon Enabulele Foundation (DOEF) has joined millions of people around the world to commemorate the International Women’s Day 2026, paying tribute to the vital role women play in shaping families, communities and global development.

In a statement marking the annual celebration, the Director-General of the foundation, Osahon Enabulele, praised the resilience, achievements and contributions of women across different sectors of society.

According to him, the day provides an opportunity to recognise the significant strides women have made while also highlighting the challenges that continue to hinder their full participation and advancement.

The foundation noted that the theme for the 2026 celebration, “Give to Gain,” underscores the need for greater commitment and investment in addressing the barriers confronting women globally.

Enabulele said the theme offers a platform to amplify discussions around the obstacles that limit women’s opportunities, including discriminatory laws, weak institutional safeguards and inadequate representation in governance and decision-making.

The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to working with stakeholders to advance gender equality and promote the rights and empowerment of women.

“As a foundation, we unequivocally affirm our commitment to collaborate with partners and international agencies to promote gender rights and women’s advancement,” Enabulele said.

He added that the organisation would continue to support initiatives aimed at helping women overcome systemic challenges and barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential.

While advocating stronger policies and collaboration to promote gender equality, the foundation also called on governments, institutions and communities to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women.

“Let’s celebrate our women,” Enabulele said, extending warm wishes to women across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The foundation reiterated that sustained efforts toward gender inclusion and empowerment remain essential for building stronger families, vibrant communities and a more equitable society.
