A shocking incident of school bullying in Edo State has drawn widespread outrage after a viral video showed one student violently attacking a peer. In the footage, one of the assailants drags the victim by his school uniform and repeatedly stomps on his chest and head while the boy cries out in pain.
A third student, who recorded the attack, can be heard pleading with the attackers to stop.
The disturbing video quickly circulated on social media, prompting immediate action from school authorities. The school confirmed that the students directly involved in the assault have been expelled, while the student who recorded the incident has been suspended pending further review.

The Edo State Police Command also issued a statement confirming the school’s actions and announcing a formal investigation. Police spokesperson Eno Ikioyedem said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has directed the Divisional Police Officer in the area to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.
“The Edo State Police Command strongly condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law,” the statement read.
The incident has reignited discussions about school safety and the urgent need for stronger measures to protect students from harassment and violence.
Parents, educators, and authorities are now calling for increased awareness and preventative programs to curb bullying in schools across the state.
