Former Spanish international Raúl García has praised Ademola Lookman for his impressive start at Atlético Madrid, describing the Nigerian forward as a “world-class player” following his rapid rise since joining the club in January.

Lookman, who completed a move from Atalanta during the winter transfer window, has quickly established himself as a key figure under manager Diego Simeone. The Super Eagles star has delivered standout performances, registering four goals and four assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.

His seamless adaptation to life in Spain has drawn widespread admiration, with García expressing little surprise at the 28-year-old’s immediate impact.

Speaking ahead of Atlético’s high-stakes city derby against Real Madrid, García commended Lookman’s ability to settle quickly and influence games at the highest level.

“He’s hit the ground running. It’s hard to get into the team like he has. I believe he’s a world-class player,” García said in remarks reported by Europa Press. “I’m not surprised by what he’s achieving.”
