The All Progressives Congress has announced that it will screen all aspirants for elective positions ahead of its forthcoming national convention scheduled for March 27, 2026, in Abuja.

A notice issued on Sunday by the Secretary of the party’s Aspirants’ Screening Committee, Isa Yuguda, confirmed that the screening exercise will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in the federal capital.

Yuguda, a former Governor of Bauchi State, emphasized that all aspirants who had purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms are required to appear before the panel in person.

“The screening is a crucial step to ensure transparency and fairness ahead of the national convention,” Yuguda stated. “Aspirants are expected to present themselves and respond to all questions from the panel.”

The national convention, slated for March 27, will see delegates gather to elect party officials and set the stage for upcoming electoral activities, marking a pivotal moment in the APC’s internal organizational calendar.

Party sources say the screening exercise aims to verify the eligibility and credentials of all candidates, ensure compliance with party guidelines, and maintain integrity in the selection process.

Observers note that the outcome of the screening could shape the party’s leadership structure and influence strategic decisions in the lead-up to the next general elections.
