Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Nigerians for the outpouring of goodwill messages, prayers and solidarity as he celebrated his 74th birthday.

In a special message released on Sunday from the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President thanked citizens across the country for their patriotism and continued support for his administration.

Addressing the nation in what was titled a “Special Birthday Message,” Tinubu said he was filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve Nigeria at this stage of his life.

“Today, as I clock another year on the journey of life, I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve this great nation. I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration,” he said.

The President also acknowledged individuals and groups who took out newspaper spaces and sponsored radio and television airtime to celebrate him, describing the gestures as deeply appreciated.

He extended special gratitude to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her “kind and loving words,” as well as to Vice President Kashim Shettima for his commendations.

Tinubu noted that consistent with his tradition of aligning personal celebrations with the mood of the nation, he chose to mark his 74th birthday quietly.

“As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we’ve faced since we initiated our reforms,” he stated, adding that the sacrifices undertaken by his administration and Nigerians were beginning to yield results.

While acknowledging temporary setbacks caused by the ongoing Middle East crisis, the President said there was now “a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.”

The President stressed that the achievements recorded so far under his administration’s reform agenda were not personal victories but collective efforts.

“The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team, or our government. We achieved the gains together,” he said.

The President concluded by calling on Nigerians to continue working together toward building “a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa.”

He ended his message on a light-hearted note: “Thank you all, and happy 74th birthday to me!”
