The 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first edition to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be the largest in history, featuring 48 teams across 16 groups.

With the March international break concluded, the final list of qualified teams is confirmed. Six spots were decided through playoff rounds—four in Europe and two via intercontinental playoffs. Europe’s Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered the tournament’s biggest shock by eliminating Italy, while Turkey, Sweden, and the Czech Republic also secured places. In the intercontinental playoffs, the Democratic Republic of the Congo defeated Jamaica 1–0, and Iraq edged Bolivia 2–1 to claim the final two spots.

The allocation of 48 slots is as follows: UEFA (Europe) — 16; CAF (Africa) — 9; AFC (Asia) — 8; CONCACAF — 6 (including hosts); CONMEBOL — 6; OFC — 1, with 2 additional places via intercontinental playoffs.

  • Group A: Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Czech Republic
  • Group B: Canada, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Qatar, Switzerland
  • Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland
  • Group D: USA, Paraguay, Australia, Turkey
  • Group E: Germany, Curacao, Ivory Coast, Ecuador
  • Group F: Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Tunisia
  • Group G: Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand
  • Group H: Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay
  • Group I: France, Senegal, Iraq, Norway
  • Group J: Argentina, Algeria, Austria, Jordan
  • Group K: Portugal, DR Congo, Uzbekistan, Colombia
  • Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama

The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the opening match in Mexico City where hosts Mexico will face South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium.
