The Lagos State Police Command has announced a comprehensive security arrangement across the state ahead of the forthcoming Easter celebrations, assuring residents of safety before, during, and after the festivities.
The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed that massive deployment of personnel and operational assets has been ordered to strategic locations to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across Lagos State.
According to the Command, security operatives have been strategically stationed at worship centres, recreational facilities, major highways, transportation hubs, and other critical public infrastructure to ensure maximum coverage and deter criminal activities during the festive period.
The Command also revealed that special security measures have been extended to riverine communities, with the Marine Police deployed to intensify surveillance and patrol operations along waterways. The move, authorities say, is aimed at preventing criminal activities and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors who may be traveling by water.

In addition, the Police Command said it is collaborating with relevant agencies to implement effective traffic management strategies to ensure smooth vehicular movement across the state throughout the Easter period.
CP Fatai extended warm Easter greetings to Christian faithful, urging residents to reflect on the virtues of love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence which the season represents. He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, while emphasizing the importance of community partnership in achieving effective policing.
The Commissioner called on residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to security agencies. He stressed that timely and credible information remains critical to proactive policing.
