United States President Donald Trump has declared that America will never abandon its military personnel, following the successful rescue of a US pilot whose fighter jet was reportedly shot down over Iran.
In a post shared early Sunday on his Truth Social platform, Trump reacted to the recovery of the second airman involved in the incident, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting American service members.
“We will never leave an American warfighter behind,” Trump wrote.
Reports had earlier indicated that Iran claimed it shot down a United States F-35 fighter jet over its central region, with two US airmen initially declared missing. The development heightened tensions amid already strained relations between Washington and Tehran.
While one of the airmen was rescued shortly after the incident, the second pilot was recovered following days of what officials described as intensive search and rescue operations.

Trump praised the military’s efforts, emphasizing that the mission was carried out without any American casualties.
“The fact that we were able to pull off both of these operations without a single American killed, or even wounded, proves once again that we have achieved overwhelming air dominance and superiority over the Iranian skies,” he stated.
The president further described the rescue as a unifying moment for the country, urging Americans across political divides to take pride in the operation.
“This is a moment that all Americans, Republican, Democrat, and everyone else should be proud of and united around,” Trump added.
The incident and subsequent rescue operation are likely to further shape diplomatic and military dynamics between the United States and Iran, as both nations continue to navigate heightened geopolitical tensions in the region.
