Tinubu holds emergency security meeting with Service Chiefs amid rising terror attacks

President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a high-level security meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together top military and intelligence officials in response to recent escalations in terrorist attacks targeting military formations across parts of the country.

The closed-door meeting, which is ongoing as of the time of filing this report, has in attendance the nation’s security leadership, including the Chief of Defence Staff, the National Security Adviser, the Service Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as the Inspector-General of Police.

Also present are the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), alongside other key security stakeholders.

The urgent engagement is believed to be connected to growing concerns over renewed attacks by terrorist groups, particularly incidents targeting military positions in different operational theatres nationwide.

Although the meeting is still in progress, official details of the discussions and any possible decisions taken had not been released at the time of this report.
