Edo 2024 September 21st, the day and place where democracy died in Nigeria and Africa.

It is very important to take a cursory look into what happened on September 21st, 2024 in Edo State Nigeria, from the behavior of the electoral umpire, returning officers, security agencies especially the Nigeria police force, and the APC, it was obvious that they all don’t mean well for Nigerians.

I took serious time to study what happened in the just concluded sham that happened on Saturday, the 21st day of September 2024, in Edo State in general. From my unit, where I won, to my ward 10 Ugbowo in Egor, where PDP won with a very high margin, I began to sense foul play when the returning offices at my ward were delaying the collation of results and slowing down the collation process in the ward.

From the beginning of the election to this very moment, I have been receiving numerous calls from disenfranchised voters, stakeholders, and victims of the APC assault who have complained about how thugs with APC party chieftains and stalwarts in the company of men of the Nigeria police force storm polling stations around the state beating up PDP unit agents assigned to monitor elections, chasing away voters and manufacturing results without using the Bvas.

The assault on democracy on September 21st, 2024, in Edo State needs to be addressed by Amnesty International and the American embassy ASAP. How can you move the collation of results in the various LGA collation centers in Edo South to the State? Who does that and prevents the PDP party agent from entering the collation center? This was the height of daylight electoral robbery.

I must commend the People’s democratic party for a job well done and for doing everything in peace. They have shown that they mean well to Nigerians and Edo citizens.

Until the people get better, we will not rest.
