Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has outlined his administration’s ambitious technology-driven agenda aimed at revolutionizing infrastructure development, security management, and governance delivery across the state.

Speaking at the Osun Tech Hangout held at the State Government Banquet Hall in Osogbo, Adeleke stated that his government is not only constructing roads and bridges but is also making significant strides in technology, innovation, and digital economy empowerment.

The governor revealed several groundbreaking initiatives already deployed or in development, including the 293 AI-powered emergency centre, Safe City Initiative, and the Security Trust Fund which are transforming the state’s security architecture.

Adeleke disclosed that the government has prioritised digital applications in governance, streamlining business processes through the Osun Investment Portal, the 45-day Certificate of Occupancy processing initiative, and a harmonised, digitised annual tax billing system .

One of the flagship initiatives is Osun One, described as a one-stop shop for all government processes, which is transforming service delivery and making government operations faster and more responsive.

The governor also announced the upcoming Osun Tech Festival, scheduled for February 19-20, 2026, aimed at showcasing youth creativity, attracting global partnerships, and positioning the state as a leading technology destination.

Adeleke directed the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Technology and Digital Economy to deploy Imole EduPods—containerised, solar-powered computer-based test centres—across the state to prepare students for examinations and promote digital inclusivity.

In the energy sector, the governor revealed that he has signed into law the Osun State Electricity Market Bill, describing it as “a landmark step towards subnational management and expansion of the power sector”.

The administration has also increased Google mapping coverage of Osun from below 50 percent to over 60 percent and is supporting private sector-led development of digital hubs to deepen statewide innovations and digital entrepreneurship.

The governor recently inaugurated a Digital Economy Advisory Council chaired by venture capitalist Kola Aina, with 20 members tasked with guiding the state on policies, projects, and partnerships to deepen digital capacity.

Adeleke emphasized that technology deployment extends beyond urban centers, noting that his administration is committed to digital inclusivity that benefits all parts of the state, particularly underserved communities.

The technology initiatives complement the administration’s broader infrastructure agenda, which has seen rehabilitation of over 150 kilometers of roads, upgrading of over 100 schools, and provision of over 332 local water facilities across the state.
