The Akwa Ibom State Government has given its approval for the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into its Mainstream Civil Service.

This strategic initiative, approved by Governor Umo Eno, is designed to enhance public service delivery and drive youth empowerment across the state.

The recruitment exercise will encompass a wide array of disciplines and cadres, including but not limited to education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, science, and administration.

The Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Frank Ekpenyong, confirmed in a statement released on Monday that the entire recruitment process will be conducted exclusively through the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal

Ekpenyong described the initiative as a testament to the governor’s commitment to transparency and job creation, aligning with the broader objectives of the ARISE Agenda.

“These appointments span every discipline and cadre, including teachers, nurses, administrators, engineers, scientists, state counsels, technicians, accountants, agriculturists, and many more,” the statement highlighted.

Applicants are required to complete their profiles on the portal by uploading all relevant documents, such as academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and any other necessary credentials, before they can apply for a position.

The ministry emphasized that candidates must apply for only one vacancy that directly aligns with their qualifications.

A valid email address will serve as the sole official channel of communication throughout the entire recruitment process.

Upon the closure of applications, shortlisted candidates will receive notifications through the portal and will be required to accept their shortlisting online.

Those successfully shortlisted will subsequently receive a QR-coded interview invitation.

The statement also indicated that some roles might necessitate an aptitude test, for which clear instructions and dates will be provided via the portal.

On the day of the test or interview, candidates are expected to present their printed invitation slip, original certificates, and writing materials.

Successful applicants will receive their final notifications through the portal and will be directed to report to the appropriate departments for documentation and onboarding.

“Once your appointment is confirmed, your status on the ARISE Employment Portal will be updated to ‘Employed,’” the statement added.

Commissioner Ekpenyong also confirmed that various government departments are currently finalizing documentation for their specific vacancies, with listings expected to go live on or before July 31, 2025.

“We wish all applicants the very best and thank you for your interest in serving the state,” the commissioner concluded.
