Alleged Assault: Abuja cabbie makes U-turn, apologizes to House of Reps member Ikwechegh

The e-hailing driver, Stephen Abuwatseya has said he is tendering an apology to the House of Representatives member representing Aba North and South of Abia State in the House of Representatives, Alex Ikwechegh who assaulted him in Abuja during an altercation over a package delivery

The e-hailing driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, has come forward to make an important apology to the member of the House of Representatives who represents both Aba North and Aba South in Abia State, Alex Ikwechegh. This apology follows a confrontation that occurred in Abuja, which stemmed from a disagreement regarding a package delivery.

In a video that was shared with the media on Thursday, Abuwatseya conveyed his sincere feelings of “regret” for the situation and for having provoked Ikwechegh during their dispute. He reached out to the Nigerian public, asking for their understanding and forgiveness for the incident.

Abuwatseya took the opportunity to encourage everyone to put the matter behind them and to focus on healing and progress. He said, “Good day Nigerians. My name is Stephen Abuwatseya. I experienced a misunderstanding with Rt. Hon Alex Mascot Ikwechegh a few days ago, and I feel it is necessary to offer my apology to him for anything I may have said or done that led to such a high level of anger from him.”

Furthermore, he emphasized that this is not a moment for division among the people, whether it be based on religion, tribal affiliations, or regional differences. Instead, he believes it is essential for everyone to come together as one. He suggested that the focus should be on unity, collaboration, and collective efforts to advance the nation, ultimately fostering a spirit of togetherness that will help Nigeria move forward.
