The Portuguese football manager Jose Mourinho who spent 5 years as manager at Stamford Bridge between 2004 and 2007 while also making a return between 2013 and 2015 had recently made a return to Serie A when he was appointed to manage Roma.

Meanwhile, report reaching National Daily reveals that the former Manchester United boss is targeting Chelsea’s young sensation Tammy Abraham to bolster his attack.

The 23-year-old England international has been at Chelsea since the age of seven and has made 82 appearances for the west London club since breaking into the first-team six years ago.

It is believed that Abraham who scored 15 Premier League goals during the 2019/20 season had fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel to replace Frank Lampard as manager in January.

Abraham woes at Stamford Bridge reached its height when the Chelsea academy graduate failed to make the matchday squads for the Champions League and FA Cup final last season.

Meanwhile, Abraham who was reported to have attracted interests from West Ham and Arsenal has seen Roma emerged as the frontunners to secure his signature as the Blues are believed to be reluctant to offload him to their Premier League rivals.

The former Aston Villa loanee could be expected to depart the Stamford Bridge just as the former Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is believed to have arrived London to complete his club-record £97.5m return after seven years of quitting the west London club.

Though Chelsea boss Tuchel has been reluctant to discuss Lukaku’s imminent arrival, but it is claimed that the Belgian has already completed the first part of his Chelsea medical in Italy while arriving London on Tuesday to be unveiled as the Blues player.

And with the imminent return of Lukaku to Chelsea giving room to the potential transfer of Abraham to Roma, Jose Mourinho would have succeeded in renewing his relationship with his former employees by capturing one of their highly-rated academy graduates.
