Leading Hausa-language entertainment network AREWA24 has announced the return of its popular drama series Zabi Biyu for a highly anticipated second season, following the success of its debut run.
The series, which gained widespread acclaim across Northern Nigeria and beyond, quickly became a fan favourite for its compelling storytelling, cultural depth, and relatable characters.
Its first season explored themes of love, difficult choices, and the complexities of modern relationships within a traditional setting—resonating strongly with viewers, particularly among young audiences.
Building on that success, Season 2 promises heightened drama, richer character development, and unexpected twists. The new instalment continues the journey of its central characters as they grapple with the consequences of past decisions while confronting new personal and societal challenges that test their values, ambitions, and relationships.
Speaking on the return, Chief Executive Officer of AREWA24, Celestine Umeibe, described the series as a key part of the network’s vision to deliver culturally relevant programming.
“Zabi Biyu represents the kind of culturally resonant drama series we are committed to delivering to our audiences, especially young adults.
The response to Season 1 was phenomenal, and we are excited to bring viewers an even more engaging and captivating second season,” he said. He added that the show also offers advertisers a unique opportunity to connect with a loyal and highly engaged Hausa-speaking audience.

“At the heart of Zabi Biyu is a story that mirrors the lived experiences of our audience. This season evolves into something more intense and emotionally complex, while staying true to the cultural nuances, language, and everyday realities of Hausa-speaking communities,” he said.
