Boko Haram strike in IGP’s home in Yobe

Boko Haram terrorists on Friday reportedly struck in Geidam, the country home of the Ag. Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, in Geidam Local Government Area, Yobe State, in a seeming show of power.

There were indications that the terrorists had struck in Geidam, the hometown of the Ag. Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, to send a warning signal and demonstration of their violence capacity.

It was gathered that a response team was urgently dispatched for immediate intervention. A military jet was said to had been deployed to the town to repel the terrorists and forestall spreading of the attacks to neighbouring towns.

The Boko Haram terrorists were said to have distributed pamphlets during the operation, threatening the people to either support their struggle to establish a Muslim caliphate or be killed.

It was gathered the one-page pamphlet, read inter alia: “Our major aim: to uplift the word of Allah, protect the religion of Islam and the wealth of the followers.

“Our target: those who do not believe in our ideology, Christians and even Muslims who do not believe in our teachings.

“Any Muslim who is not supporting the empire of Islam is our target.

“Anyone who comes to us for forgiveness and stop fighting us will be exempted from attacks.”

Meanwhile, there is still tension in Geidam despite the presence of the military.
