Following the unfortunate incident that occurred in Kano State where one Bridget Abahime was mobbed and extra-judicially murdered, the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has called for calm, assuring that justice would take its cause.
As a result, the Kano State Police Command has said that two key suspects have been arrested in connection with the unfortunate incident.
It was learnt that Dauda Ahmed and Subeiru Abubakar have been arrested and are helping the police in its investigation.
In a swift reaction to unravelling the circumstances behind the murder, the Inspector General of Police has directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in- charge of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) to deploy the Homicide Section of the Department to immediately take over the investigation of the case and ensure a meticulous investigation and speedy prosecution of the arrested suspects.

Also, it was gathered that the IGP has also directed the Commissioner of Police of Kano State, Maigari to sustain the community engagement actions which he is currently initiating with all strategic security stakeholders and community leaders in the State with a view to dousing the tension being generated by the condemnable incident.
Similarly, President Mohammadu Buhari has condemned the barbaric act and directed the IGP to thoroughly investigate and bring the perpetrators to book with a view to checking future occurrence.
The Force leadership, therefore, emphasised the sanctity of human lives and condemns in the strongest possible terms the violation of the right to life of citizens under any guise.
