Manchester United continued their impressive resurgence under interim manager Michael Carrick with a 2–0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off, securing a fourth straight win since the coaching change.

Carrick, who took charge following the departure of Ruben Amorim, has overseen a remarkable turnaround in form, guiding the Red Devils to victories over Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham before Saturday’s success against Spurs.

The contest at Old Trafford proved cagey for much of the first half, with United struggling to break down a disciplined Tottenham side.

The turning point arrived when Spurs captain Cristian Romero was shown a straight red card by referee Michael Oliver for a reckless challenge on Casemiro, reducing the visitors to 10 men.

After the interval, United tightened their grip on the game and doubled their lead through Bruno Fernandes, whose composed finish ensured there would be no way back for the visitors.

The result sees Manchester United consolidate their position in the Premier League top four, moving to 44 points, and further fuels optimism around Carrick’s early impact as head coach.
