Cavista Holdings has announced the promotion of Olumide Olayomi to the position of Executive Director/Vice President, Government and External Affairs, marking a significant step in the company’s mission to deepen institutional partnerships and expand its influence across Africa.
In a statement released on Monday, the company described the appointment as a strategic move that reinforces its leadership team with seasoned professionals aligned with Cavista’s vision of creating value and transforming lives throughout the continent.
Olayomi, a respected governance advisor and institutional strategist, previously served as Cavista’s Director of Government and External Affairs.
He brings more than 30 years of experience spanning both the public and private sectors in Nigeria. Known for his adeptness in navigating complex policy and regulatory landscapes, Olayomi has consistently bridged the gap between government, business, and community stakeholders.
His academic background includes a degree in Geography and Planning, supplemented by executive education at Lagos Business School and other prestigious institutions.
His career features senior leadership roles such as Head of Government and Community Relations at Etisalat (now 9mobile), Director of Corporate Services at Churchgate Group, and Special Assistant to the Secretary to the Lagos State Government.

Notably, in 2016, Olayomi was appointed Sole Administrator of Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), where he led reforms and delivered public services to over one million residents. His tenure emphasized transparency, community development, and institutional efficiency.
In the private sector, he has also served as Head of Strategy and Operations at Olivestrength Nigeria Ltd., in addition to offering long-term advisory services on governance, intergovernmental coordination, and public sector performance.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Olayomi chairs Omonide Farms Ltd., and holds several prestigious fellowships, including with LEAD International—a Rockefeller Foundation initiative—and the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
He is also a Justice of the Peace and has played a critical role in Lagos State’s tax reform processes, as well as global leadership forums.
