Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, during his visit to Area ‘F’ Command Headquarters, urges men of the command to engage with local stakeholders and reinforce the commitment of the command in combating crime across the state.

During his official visit to the Area ‘F’ Command Headquarters in Ikeja, CP Adegoke Fayoade emphasized the Lagos State Police Command’s unwavering determination to sustain the fight against crime. He specifically addressed the issue of criminal activities involving okada riders, warning them to desist from such acts or face severe legal consequences.

“The police are resolute in rooting out criminals, particularly those who exploit motorcycles for criminal activities such as following bank customers and snatching their withdrawals,” stated CP Adegoke Fayoade. He stressed the importance of community cooperation, urging the public, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), to provide credible information that could aid in apprehending criminals within their neighborhoods.

Highlighting the proactive measures being taken, CP Adegoke Fayoade outlined plans to broaden the scope of operations against criminal elements associated with okada riders across the state.

The Area Commander of Area ‘F’ Command, ACP Paul Azuka Okafor, expressed gratitude for the visit and acknowledged the collaborative efforts that have contributed to a notable reduction in crime within the command’s jurisdiction over the past six months.

Key figures present during the CP’s visit included ACP Joseph Jayeoba, overseeing Intelligence; Provost Isa Abubakar; and SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command. Dignitaries such as Chief Reuben Ibeakama, the Eze Ndi-Igbo of Oshodi-Isolo, and other traditional rulers also attended the event.

The visit not only served to acknowledge the efforts of local stakeholders but also aimed to strategize for enhanced service delivery in the months ahead, as part of the Lagos State Police Command’s commitment to fostering a secure and peaceful environment
