Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, the executive chairman of the board, revealed in a statement that the state successfully collected a staggering N104,080,603,826.74 between January and June 2025.

This figure represents a monumental leap compared to the N78,017,546,571.06 collected during the same period in 2024, demonstrating a positive variance of N26,063,057,255.68, or an astounding 133.41% performance increase.

Hon. Ighrakpata expressed strong confidence that the state is well on its way to surpassing its revenue target by the close of the fiscal year.

The executive chairman attributed this landmark achievement to a multi-faceted approach, including strategic partnerships and enhanced operational efficiencies.

He specifically lauded the technical support provided by lead consultants, ICMA Professional Services and Zopaz advisory Services, for their dedication to the state’s IGR drives.

Furthermore, Ighrakpata highlighted key internal strategies that contributed to the success and intensified engagements with relevant stakeholders, extensive sensitization and education campaigns for taxpayers, and the effective implementation of a whistleblower policy.

The establishment of the executive chairman intelligence gathering and compliance monitoring unit and the tax investigation unit has bolstered enforcement capabilities, while the streamlined use of the Tax Audit Review Committee (TARC) meetings has ensured speedy and amicable resolutions of tax liability objections.

The remarkable performance underscores the Delta state government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and innovative revenue generation, paving the way for sustained development and improved public services across the state.
