Don Jazzy reveals qualities he looks for in an ideal partner

Renowned Nigerian music executive and producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has opened up about the qualities he considers important in an ideal romantic partner.

The 43-year-old founder of Mavin Records made the revelation while speaking on a recent episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast hosted by Nollywood actress Chinasa Anukam.

During the conversation, the award-winning producer said that his ideal woman must possess certain personal traits that make a relationship comfortable and stress-free for him.

According to Don Jazzy, the most important quality he values in a partner is someone who is expressive and adventurous in romance. He added that beyond that, he prefers a woman with a gentle personality and a calm disposition.

“My ideal woman for dating, in order of importance, first of all, you have to be adventurous,” he said. “Secondly, you have to be soft both in body and personality. Because if you shout at me, you are dating yourself.”

The music executive explained that he deliberately avoids relationships that involve unnecessary tension, stating that he does not tolerate aggression, hostility, or violence in any form.

“I don’t like stress. I don’t tolerate stress and violence. The moment you try to be nonchalant or violent, you will not see me again. You will just realise that you are dating yourself,” he added.

Don Jazzy, who has remained one of the most influential figures in the Nigerian music industry, has often kept details of his personal relationships relatively private.

However, in a previous interview last year, the producer disclosed that he remains unmarried partly because of his intense dedication to his music career.

He also admitted that he is cautious about committing to a long-term relationship due to what he described as a lack of discipline to remain faithful to one partner.

The music mogul further explained that he is wary of repeating the mistakes that led to his earlier failed marriage.

Over the years, Don Jazzy has played a major role in shaping the Nigerian music scene, mentoring several successful artists and building Mavin Records into one of the most prominent record labels in Africa.

His comments on relationships have since sparked conversations among fans on social media about his views on love, compatibility, and emotional well-being in partnerships.
