Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), registering as a member in Ward 5 of Calabar Municipality, Blueprint.ng reports.
Eyewitnesses at the registration event said Duke received his ADC membership card to enthusiastic applause from residents and supporters who gathered to witness the move.
This marks the second time Duke has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Previously, he had joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP), where he controversially contested as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
The development follows calls from ADC leaders in Bakassi Local Government Area, urging Cross River residents to align with the party.
In a stakeholders meeting that included chapter executives, ward chairmen, and secretaries, party leaders emphasized that ADC was committed to delivering transformative change and restoring governance to Nigerians.
A press release shared with Blueprint.ng on Friday, signed by Bakassi Chapter Chairman Emmanuel Asuquo and Secretary Eko Boco, encouraged undecided citizens to join the ADC, describing the party as a vehicle for national renewal.
The statement also reaffirmed unwavering support for the party’s national leadership, pledging loyalty to Senator David Mark, National Chairman, and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary, as well as all recognized party structures at every level.
“As we work towards building a strong and united party, we invite our family and friends who are still undecided to join the ADC today, as the party is poised to bring about transformative change in Nigeria,” the release read.
