The Edo State Government has commenced the construction of 20km Iyekogba Road, which Governor Godwin Obaseki identified as legacy project.

“With this project, we aim to bring jobs and development to over 33 communities, while also constructing a new town in the area that will occupy almost 500 hectares. To ensure a swift completion of the road project, I am mobilising two contractors to the site.”

“As we commence the construction of the 20km Iyekogba Road and extend the Benin metropolis to that axis, I must express my sincere appreciation to the Enigie and the people of Iyekogba Community for their unwavering support through the years.
“With this project, we aim to bring jobs and development to over 33 communities, while also constructing a new town in the area that will occupy almost 500 hectares. To ensure a swift completion of the road project, I am mobilising two contractors to the site.
“The historical significance of this route to the success of the great Benin Empire cannot be overstated. The route serves as a spur to Ekenwan Road and provides access to the Benin River Port at Gelegele, which is one of our legacy projects.”
