Edo group pressures Dan Osi Orbih to contest for PDP national chairman

A political group in the Edo State, Edo State Decide Movement (ESDM), on Tuesday called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Osi Orbih to contest for the PDP national chairman at the party’s national convention in Abuja.

The Edo State Decide Movement (ESDM), in a statement highlighted that in the buildup to the PDP Elective National Convention in October, members of the Movement met on Tuesday at Prestige Hotel, along Ihama, Benin City to mobilise support for Dan Orbih to contest the PDP national chairman at the party’s convention in October. It was indicated that the meeting was attended the PDP executives in Edo State and the 18 local government media coordinators across the state under the leadership of Comrade Bayode Choice.
The meeting in their deliberations, resolved to endorse the former PDP State Chairman in Edo, and unanimously decided that there is a need to plead or call on the PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Osi Orbih to indicate interest to run for the office of the national chairman of the PDP for the betterment and unity of the party and Nigeria at large, considering his unprecedented leadership style towards humanity.

Participants at the meeting in a resolution, declared: “at this present political dispensation, we need a vibrant, dynamic, courageous, outstanding , tenacious , determined and vocal leader as PDP national chairman, if we must rescue Nigeria from this retrogressive administration of the APC.” They maintained that “Chief Dan Osi Orbih position towards productive leadership is resonated with the wishes of a greater majority of PDP members and Nigerians, in general, having  understood the dynamics that would shape and deliver on the effective development of our nation and the party, PDP .

They also noted that the political juggernaut and indefatigable chairman, a man with impeccable character, Chief Dan OiSI Orbih, has not indicated interest yet, clarifying: “he has not told us that he is contesting for the position, ours is an appeal to him;” adding: “and as such, kindly join us in appealing to him to be among the contestants for the probability of him becoming the party national chairman is 95%, based on his political activism and antecedents that stands for a prosperous nation that offered opportunities for all.”
Members of the Movement and other participants  enjoined other stakeholders of goodwill to join hands with them to build a better PDP and a better Nigeria, as they look forward to a peaceful and productive national convention on October 30-31st where those that will serve the true interest of the people selflessly will be elected.
The Custodian of the Edo State Decides Movement (ESDM), Comrade Bayode Choice advised the media tacticians to be law abiding and civil in their approach in the course of canvassing support for a quintessential and highly scintillating chairman.

They declared that they are convinced that “Dan Orbih stands a better chance as PDP national chairman, as such, join us as we move forward.”
