Former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State on Monday inaugurated network of roads reconstructed by Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State in Osogbo.

The reconstructed roads inaugurated by Fayemi are Osogbo-Agunbelewo-Okinni-Ilobu-Ifon-Osun and Kelebe-Osogbo-Iragbiji roads.

Speaking during the inauguration, Fayemi applauded Oyetola for keeping faith with his electoral promises, even in the face of daunting socio-economic challenges.

He acknowledged the tremendous achievements of the Oyetola-led administration in the state, stressing that the governor had turned difficulties to opportunities since assumption of office.

“I was delighted when I was asked if I would be available to honour you with my presence as the Special Guest of Honour at this inauguration ceremony.

“We know the burden of what you have been carrying since you assumed office,” he said.

Oyetola emphasised that his administration was resolute to continue to deliver on his promise until the last road in Osun was in good standing’.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continuously set Osun on the world map of socio-economic development.

He said that the successful completion of most of the road projects was in fulfilment of the promise of his administration to fix the failed roads in the state.

Earlier in his welcome address, Commissioner for Works and Transport, Remi Omowaye, said the government constructed the roads despite the fact that the Federal Government  was still owing the state.

Omowaye said the state embarked on the reconstruction of the roads to ease traffic, lessen hardship and untold road mishaps, particularly in Osogbo, the State capital.
