Former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State on Sunday night warned that the agitations by the PDP G5, may become more dangerous  in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if the party leadership failed to urgently resolve the contentious issues.

The PDP G5 comprising of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, including other PDP leaders like Bode George, Prof Jerry Gana, Dan Orbih, former Governors Segun Mimiko of Ondo State, Donald Duke of Cross River State, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, etc.

They are demanding the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and the appointment of a southern national chairman to lead the party into the 2023 general elections.

Former Governor Fayose had in his tweet on Sunday night declared: Peter Ayodele Fayose @GovAyoFayose “I see more serious turbulence for PDP more than ever before. I have been silent all this while hoping that things will get better.

“I advise we do more than we are doing now to resolve this crisis as events in days/weeks ahead may likely get messier. I pray this advice is not ignored.”

The PDP leadership had intervened in the controversy, leading to the resignation of the chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Jibrin Walid, and the appointment of former Seante President Adulphus Wabara from the southeast as his successor, but the PDP G5 insisted that it must be the national chairman, Ayu, that should resign.

Wike and his group have since pulled out of the PDP presidential campaign.
