The Federal Government has mandated all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) within the civil service to fully digitise their operations and eliminate paper-based workflows by the end of 2025.

This directive was announced by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, during a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, ahead of the 2025 International Civil Service Week and African Public Service Day, scheduled for June 25–26.

Walson-Jack explained that this move is a key goal of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP 25), which ends on December 31. The reform agenda focuses on digital transformation, enhanced performance management, and more efficient service delivery across MDAs.

As the deadline for FCSSIP 25 approaches, the federal government is pushing to institutionalise digital processes as a cornerstone of civil service reform.
