The report reaching National Daily reveals that Manchester United have started work on prising Harry Kane away from Tottenham after £100m asking price was set by Daniel Levy.
The England captain will have a year remaining on his deal at the end of the season and National Daily learnt that Tottenham are pessimistic over their chances of keeping the striker beyond 2024.
It is believed that should Kane intimate he will not sign a new deal, Daniel Levy will reluctantly listen to offers for the striker though his preference may be selling abroad.
However, National Daily understands that the England captain wants to remain in the Premier League as he has his eyes on breaking Alan Shearer’s record.
Manchester United are Kane’s only viable destination, given Manchester City signed Erling Haaland last summer and he would not consider a move to a London rival.
United vowed not to work with Levy again following a move for Dimitar Berbatov in 2008, though they attempted to sign Gareth Bale in 2013 only to be used to up Real Madrid’s then-world record offer.
