A fire broke out at the Katangowa pipeline area in Abule Egba, Lagos, after foams stored at the site ignited, sending thick smoke and towering flames into the air and disrupting traffic and daily activities in the vicinity.

Eyewitnesses said residents and passersby initially tried to contain the blaze using available materials, helping to slow its spread before the arrival of professional firefighters.

Officials from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service later took control of the situation and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings and facilities.
