The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has vowed to restore public confidence in the Corps, acknowledging that many motorists have lost trust in FRSC personnel due to perceptions of corruption.

Mohammed made the pledge during a visit to the FRSC Sector Command in Akure, Ondo State, on Monday.

Speaking to the officers, Mohammed emphasized the need for the Corps to uphold the principles of integrity, loyalty, and selfless service, which were set by the founding members of the organization.

He stressed that the Corps’ core mission is to protect lives by minimizing road safety hazards and ensuring a safe driving environment for the public.

However, he expressed concern that motorists are increasingly avoiding interaction with FRSC officers, citing a breakdown in trust. “Public servants in uniform are expected to make sacrifices for the nation,” Mohammed remarked, urging officers to maintain their professional conduct both in the office and on the roads.

The Corps Marshal assured FRSC personnel that the organization would prioritize their welfare and provide necessary logistics and support to help them perform their duties effectively.

He also praised the Special Marshals for their dedication and honesty, noting that they have played a key role in promoting road safety across the nation.

Additionally, Mohammed promised that the Corps would continue to reward outstanding officers through promotions and opportunities for further education, while also recognizing excellence in service delivery.
